Your Own Room

You can open your own room on the CBFChat Network quickly and easily! Enter a name into the "Your Room" box to create a custom name, or else just click the "Your Room" button to make a room from your name! Anyone else who enters the same room name as you will join the room, so you can just tell who you want to be in there! No one is able to take control of "Your Room", and when the last person leaves, the room will be closed. Hosts will not usually visit these rooms, though you are expected to conform to the Terms of Chat at all times.

How to
Perform an Action	Click once on a persons name in the list on the right of chat. Now select an action from the ACTIONS list, and it will appear on the screen. Failing to select a user will result in the name NULL being used!
Use an Acronym	Simply select an acronym from the list ACRONYMS
Use "Your Rooms"	Agree a room name with those you want to chat to, and all enter it in the "Your Room" box. Or, just click "Your Room" and a room featuring your username will be created - you can then tell those you want to chat with the name.
Change User Name	Enter a new user name and click "Change Name". Or, just click "Change Name" to generate a random user name.
Leave chat	Click the "Disconnect" button and then click one of the links at the bottom of the screen. This will remove the banner from the top of your screen.
Change Rooms	Click a room name listed down the left hand side.
Use Private Messages	Double-click on a user name in the box on the right hand side of chat. A window will now open. Type your message and press enter. A window appears on the other users screen and you can have a private conversation. Click "Close Window" when you are done chatting.
Access chat quickly!	Send your friends and yourself off to http://www.cbfmail.com/chat/ and log in!

CBFHosts
CBFChat	This is your host in the CBFChat room! CBFChat will normally introduce him or her self on arriving to the room, and tell you a bit about themselves. If you have any questions, feel free to send them to CBFChat in a private message.
CBFHost	Accompanies special guests in the CBFHosted room. Also hosts regular chats about particular topics. The CBFHost is there to keep order in the room, and make sure everyone has their say. Occaisionally CBFHost may mute members.
CBFSupport	You will mostly find this host in the CBFTech room. During busy periods, CBFSupport will explain the system in place so all questions can be answered. Members may be muted and/or asked to discuss their problem in private messages.
Warning: Anyone attempting to imitate a CBFHost will be removed from the chat network immediately. All host names will begin CBF with the name directly afterwards. ALL CBF Hosts will be listed on this page, if they are not listed, they are not a host! A host, who may also be referred to as a "SYSOP", has the power to remove or mute users at any time. You may be muted in certain rooms where turn taking is in place - for example CBFTech. Thank you.

Terms of Chat

These will be referred to as TOC. While using the CBFChat Network, you are bound by the TOC.

Our chat service is very strict. There will often be hosts on chat, with names prefixed with "@", who will take action against anyone who breeches these terms and conditions. You are bound by these terms and conditions whenever you are using the CBFChat rooms.

When you connect to CBFChat your details are logged. For information about the details that we store for security reasons visit our Privacy Statement.

At all times while you are connected to CBFChat, hosts and monitors are able to access your information as in the Privacy Statement. If you violate these terms and conditions then you may be contacted by a host, or your details may be passed to the relevant body, such as your ISP, so action can be taken against you (for example, termination of your account that connects you to the Internet).

Our policy is no swearing, no harassment of other users, and no abuse.

NO SWEARING: You must keep your language clean. In some rooms with an Adult theme, mild swearing may be acceptable. If you're not sure, check with a host. Swearing must NEVER be used in room CBFChat or Support.

NO HARASSMENT OF OTHER USERS: You must not persist to make contact with any user that has expressed they do not want to communicate with you. You must not reveal personally identifiable information about any user, or make claims or comments about their person.

NO ABUSE: This covers abuse to the system and abusive behavior towards any other user. Primarily, repeated connections to CBFChat within a short space of time, "scrolling" (where a user enters many lines into a chat room in a short space of time), and anything else that may affect the performance of the system is strictly prohibited and will result in disconnection and banning from the service.
