CBFMail protects you with the most up-to-date and advanced
virus detection and removal technologies at every stage of
an email/file's life on the CBFMail system. When a new virus
is found, CBFMail will be able to detect it and possibly even
remove it from infected files. CBFMail's virus detection system
is capable of quickly detecting new viruses even if they have
only been discovered in the last hour. The scanning engine
automatically updates with new virus detection and removal
techniques as soon as they are available.
As soon as an email enters the CBFMail system it is automatically
scanned for all known viruses. If viruses are found, the email
is marked with a transmission warning. When you read the email,
CBFMail will notify you which files are infected with viruses,
and the names of the viruses. It is then up to you to virus
scan the files and possibly remove infected viruses using
CBFMail-Scan before you download the files. Please note that
infected files are only identified, not cleaned, during transmission.
Before downloading a file from anywhere on the CBFMail system,
you will always be given the option to virus scan the file.
If you click to download an attachment from an email, choosing
virus scan will detect any viruses, and if possible, remove
the virus from the file. If CBFMail-Scan has identified a
virus and says that the file was cleaned, you can then proceed
to download the file without risk of infection. Please note
that you must virus scan the file every time you read the
email as CBFMail cannot remove viruses from the original mail.
Also, you can virus scan all the files in your file manager
just as easily. Simply select the files you wish to scan and
click the virus scan button. You will be alerted if viruses
were found and if they have been cleaned. Once a virus has
been cleaned from a file in file manager, you do not have
to virus scan the file each time before downloading, as the
original file will be cleaned.
It is advised that you always virus scan files before downloading
them as new viruses are discovered every hour. What couldn't
be detected yesterday might be detected today!
